Diary Entry 83: Saigon, Saturday Night, 30 October 1965

                               Saigon
                                                                                               Saturday Night, 30 October 1965

We’ve had nothing but flaps all day, so spent most of my time putting out fires.  Tonight we had to work late on some complicated messages to CINCPAC and the JCS.  Have to be back to work tomorrow at 6 a.m. to polish up the messages and get ready to brief General Crowley at 10.

[Editor's Note:  The Joint Chiefs of Staff and Admiral Sharp, the Commander-in-Chief, Pacific (CINCPAC) sent MACV J-4 a series of increasingly urgent messages between 7 October and 23 October 1965 requesting information on reports of port congestion in South Vietnam.]
